Abraham and Britni Photography

When Abraham and I married over a decade ago, I knew his passion was photography, but we weren't sure if it was the Lord's will for us to start a business...so we prayed...and prayed...and prayed...for 8 years. Then in the fall of 2009 my husband was hired {totally out of the blue...not looking for it} to shoot a beautiful garden wedding. After the family received the photos they were so pleased that they really pushed of us to start a business. In January of 2010 "Wood Photography" was born. From Jan. 2010 - Jan. 2012 - Wood Photography consisted of Abe as the Photographer and me as the office manager.

Sometime toward the end of 2011 Abe said just in chatting "Wouldn't it be awesome if we could shoot together?" I loved that idea and told him that I had been dreaming of that for YEARS...so we prayed. In Feb. of this year the Lord opened the doors!! We were so excited! There was a time when we thought " Ok Lord, do you want us to go into business?" and now we can barely keep with the demand of Weddings, Maternity, Families, and Seniors! We have given this business 100% to God and we have been totally blessed. We have met the greatest people!

In June we shot our VERY first wedding together...IT WAS AMAZING! It was so cool to see my husband is a totally different way! He told me that that was probably the most relaxed that he has ever been at a wedding! From that one wedding we have been scheduling weddings well into 2013! Last week we did a Senior session almost ever day!

I am so proud to announced that we are now Abraham and Britni Photography {New web address soon}

Why am I sharing this? Because I want everyone to know that if you have a dream fight for it, but also bring it before the Lord! If it is God's will it WILL happen...maybe not in a week or in 5 years or in a decade..but it will!

Good bye May, Hello June...and a photo challenge

I can't believe that tomorrow starts June...JUNE! What the heck, May flew by!

June is going to be Jammed Packed with Family visiting, and Weddings, Family Sessions, Maternity Sessions, Newborns...and Seniors...WOW! We are sooooooo excited for June! 

This Month I have decided to do a "30 Day Photo Challenge" 

I have never done a photo challenge...so this should be fun!! I'm also going to have my oldest son {1st grade} grab his camera and do the challenge with me! I think he'll have a great time!

In Training...it's never too early to start!

About three weeks ago our children came with us on a photo shoot. We do this whenever possible. Our business is 100% family centered...we love it that way and so do our clients!

During this particular photo shoot we were setting up at a new location. When I turned around I saw this!

Our oldest son getting a few shots! I was so darn cute I just had to get a photo!

When you ask our little guy what he wants to be when he grows up, he is VERY quick to answer "A Photographer!"

Gotta love it!

The Weather in the Pacific Northwest!!

The weather in the inland northwest can be so strange...blizzard, rain, blazing sunshine and that all before 10am;)

This month it has been crazy. We had a photo shoot with a "Cause" that was totally rained out - we were soaked within 5 minutes...as we were driving home the sun came out and it was beautiful...go figure huh!

But as you can see they were pretty good sports about the weather!

Last weekend was STUNNING! Beautiful sunshine! On sunday our little girl wore a tank top all day and the kids had a great time playing outside and riding their bikes. It made me feel like spring is real here!

Even the birds were thrilled to see the blue sky and sunshine!!

Now today...Monday...I strongly dislike Mondays. When I woke up the house was dark...I opened the curtains to find...a down pour....SURPRISE!!

This weekend we have a number of outdoor photo shoots! Will the weather be beautiful for the 2nd weekend in a row?!?!? Your guess is as good as mine!

Something new...

For the last decade our dream has been to be a husband and wife photography team! This month our dream became a reality...and we are so excited! God has blessed in so many ways. A huge blessing has been the fact that our children our 'suddenly' as happy as can be to have grandma babysit them when we go out on shoots! Thank You LORD! :) Just two months ago we thought the day would NEVER come...after much prayer it has!! YAY!

So how has it been? AMAZING! It has been everything we had hoped for and more! Abraham and I work extremely well together {not a surprise considering we have been married for over a decade!} We bounce ideas off each other and have had SO much fun! We have even heard from our clients and their families that we are "a phenomenal team" and "So much fun to be around...they are adorable together" WOW, those are huge compliments to us! Thank you!

All those years ago when the Lord put the desire in our hearts to have our business, he knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

We have been so blessed to share some amazing moments in three families lives over the last 2 weeks - a maternity shoot, a wedding and a newborn shoot!
